Emergency Plumbing in San Jose, CA
Burst pipe at midnight, sewage rising in the tub on Thanksgiving, a water heater dumping its tank into the hallway — plumbing emergencies do not schedule themselves for business hours. We answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and a real plumber (not an answering service) talks you through it.
The first thing we do on an emergency call is help you stop the damage: where the shut-off is, how to kill the water heater, what to move. Then we get to you. Being a local two-man operation means no dispatcher queue — the person you talked to is the person driving over.
Every San Jose homeowner should know where their main shut-off valve is before they need it. If you do not, call us for a regular visit and we will show you — and test that the valve actually turns, because a seized shut-off during a flood is its own emergency.
Signs you need emergency plumbing help
- Burst or split pipe actively leaking
- Sewage backing up into tubs or showers
- Water heater tank failure flooding the area
- No water to the entire house
- Gas smell near a water heater or appliance (leave first, then call 911 and PG&E)
Frequently asked questions
What should I do while I wait for you to arrive?
Shut off the water at the fixture stop or the main house valve (usually near the front hose bib or in the garage). For water heater leaks, close the cold inlet valve on top of the tank. We will walk you through all of this on the phone.
Do you charge extra for nights and weekends?
After-hours calls carry an emergency rate, which we quote on the phone before we head your way — no surprises when the truck arrives. If it can safely wait until morning, we will tell you that too and save you the difference.
Is a sewage backup dangerous?
Yes — treat it as contaminated. Keep kids and pets away, do not run any water, and skip DIY cleanup of more than a small area. We clear the blockage first so it stops rising, then advise on cleanup.
